The lubrication system of a vertical machining center is an indispensable part for the normal operation of the whole machine. The performance of the lubrication system directly affects the mechanical performance and machining performance of the vertical machining center. Its working principle can be briefly described as follows: the separately supplied lubricating oil and compressed air are mixed to form a turbulent oil-air mixed flow, which is then delivered to the spindle and other parts requiring lubrication of the machining center.
Working Principle of Lubrication System for Vertical Machining Center:
The working principle is to use the flow of compressed air in the pipeline to drive lubricating oil to flow continuously along the inner wall of the pipeline, mixing oil with air and delivering it to lubrication points such as the spindle and lead screw of the machining center. Dry compressed air is continuously supplied at a constant pressure of 5—8BAR, while lubricating oil is quantitatively supplied according to the oil consumption of spindle lubrication, lead screw lubrication and other parts. Therefore, each lubrication circuit must be equipped with an independent micro oil pump as the power source for oil delivery. After being pumped out by the pressure pump, the lubricating oil first enters the oil-air mixing valve. Inside the valve, flowing compressed air blows the oil into fine oil droplets, which adhere to the pipe wall to form an oil film. The oil film flows along the pipe wall following the direction of airflow and gradually becomes thinner without condensation during flowing. This process is regarded as the normal lubrication function of the machining center lubrication system, namely the working principle of the vertical machining center lubrication system as we generally understand.
